Scandinavian design is internationally renowned for its combination of form and function. Everything we stock has been created by an individual designer and crafted in the Scandinavian spirit.

Taking pride of place in our shop is a wide range of interiors fabrics by leading Finnish company, Marimekko. Their fabrics are screen printed and characterised by bold abstract patterns in bright colours, striking monochrome or subtle neutrals. We also offer wallpaper, kitchen accessories and retro ceramics in some of Marimekko’s most popular prints. In addition we stock beautiful glassware and ceramics with a retro twist by Finnish firm Iittala; ceramics by Swedish company Höganäs Keramik; selected items by Design House Stockholm who offer stylish functional products including hooks and carriers for bicycles as well as award-winning lighting; luxurious linen curtains and tableware from Swedish, family-owned company, Klässbols, whose beautiful linen products are to be found in many Swedish embassies and new and vintage handwoven rugs from new Swedish company Svenska Trasmattor.

Iconic furniture

Nord also offers an introduction to beautifully crafted furniture from two contrasting but equally superbly Scandinavian furniture producers – Artek of Finland and G.A.D of Sweden. Artek furniture is classic Scandinavian modern from the 1930s-1960s produced originally by architect Alvar Aalto and other leading Nordic designers of the period. G.A.D is a small, relatively young company whose director and leading designer, Kristian Eriksson has fulfilled his dream of marrying traditional quality cabinet-making with contemporary, minimalist styling. G.A.D furniture is produced using materials local to Gotland:- birch, Swedish oak, limestone and even naturally treated sheep fleece. The craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into the making of G.A.D furniture is rare today.
